I’m writing this review while currently still in the hotel with two more days left to my stay and could not be more disappointed. Upon checking in, I walked into my room and was immediately met with a very foul, fishy smell. I walked into the bedroom to a trail of ants feasting on cookie crumbs on the floor. When I picked up the phone to call the front desk, there were fingernail or toe nail clippings in the phone. I alerted the front desk and they said they would have somebody come look at it. Someone from housekeeping came in, sprayed the ants and then mopped them up. When I asked to be moved to another room because of the smell, they said the hotel was full, and they couldn’t move me to another room. This morning, someone came in and sprayed the room for ants and I asked if housekeeping could come and clean up And help locate the foul smell. Someone from housekeeping came in and told me that I was not allowed to be in the room while they cleaned up told him I didn’t trust that the room would be cleaned if I wasn’t in it and they said as long as I’m in here, They won’t clean it. I purposely left certain things to see if the room was cleaned, and when I came back, sure enough, nothing was done except the beds being Made up. I once again requested to be moved and again, housekeeping was sent to clean up. They sprayed some kind of grapefruit spray and now the room smells like grapefruit and fish. The fire alarms going off in the building And there were no announcements of what to do so we just evacuated And waited for an announcement that never came. When we came back in, a second room that I have in the hotel was infested with ants as well. We’re still waiting on someone to come and spray that room. The only explanation we received was ants usually come in the first floor rooms through the window. So now we’re stuck in ant infested rooms that reek of fish. What a disappointment for the price that we paid and now we have to suffer through two more days of this. My family and I travel weekly for work and I will never stay or recommend staying at this hotel.

Stayed here with our daughter's college dance team for a competition. She is the co-head coach and I assisted her in booking the rooms for both the team and the families that attended the competition. India was fabulous to work with during the planning phase. She made it so easy to process the necessary paperwork from the university athletics dept. and could not have been nicer! She even was able to offer us a meeting room so the team could gather to have dinner together and do some team bonding in preparation for the next day! She truly anticipated and met - actually - exceeded all of our needs! Going to break down our stay: Check in - we were greeted by the most welcoming, knowledgeable and accommodating staff. Very smooth for the both the individual guests and the team. Meeting room - Room was reserved with a sign on the door for the team - small detail that made us feel extra welcome! The room was HUGE! So perfect for the team to dine and have enough space to walk through their routine. I had cooked and brought dinner for them and the set up allowed for a perfect crockpot buffet! The room FAR exceed expectations. Guest rooms - Absolutely immaculate and comfortable. I am a Diamond Member and very Hilton loyal and this was probably one of the best Homewood Suites I have ever stayed in! The team had double queen 1 bedroom suites which worked out perfectly. They loved them and had plenty of space to get ready for the competition! The family rooms were perfect as well. We received all positive feedback from them! Breakfast - Hot and delicious - very consistent with what we have come to expect from a Homewood suites! It was great for my daughter and the other head coach to know that the team was heading to the competition well-fueled for a busy day ahead. Staff - I can't say enough good things about EVERYONE on staff! They not only met our needs but they were truly happy to help in any way that they could. The ladies at the front desk were truly a pleasure! Because of using the meeting room, we had the opportunity to interact with the engineering staff who was equally as helpful and accommodating! The general manager was there upon check in and was equally nice and clearly on top of what was going on at his property. He was out front not in some back office but completely visible and present which is not always the case with GMs at hotels. Location - The hotel is located in area close to highways. It feels like a "residential" area but there is plenty of shopping and restaurants within a 4 minute drive. Very conveniently located and we felt completely safe. Side Note: Our team was successful at competition, placing first in their category! I find myself hoping that they return next year so we can make this hotel (and hopefully another first place) a regular stop for the team!!

We had a great 1 night group visit with our collegiate athletics team before facing a team in the local area. The rooms are clean, modern, spacious - a true suite style room. Breakfast included real NY Bagels which was a plus. Staff was beyond helpful with check-in. I always recommend this property!

Call the dentist because this is a sweet suite! Room 444 is a fantastic (and quiet) room! Full kitchen, pans, plates, cups, silverware, lg spoon and spatula for cooking, dishwasher & soap, lg fridge, 2 electric burners for cooking and nice microwave. Even a little cabinet space to store groceries. A small work desk with extra lamp. Large screen TV that swivels. The king sized bed is perfect for sleeping with several charging outlets on both sides of the bed. HUGE living space with laminate wood floor. Not that there's any need to, but if the kids wanted to sleep in a pop up tent on the floor, there's plenty of room for it, AND still be able to walk around easily in the space!! I didn't catch her name, but the front desk clerk who checked me in was SUPER helpful! She was in the middle of an closing/early opening shift and still had a smile on her face! Many places I've been to in my many trips across the country, I encounter service people who have such a sour face and an attitude that you're annoyingly bothering them to do their job for you. MY EXPERIENCE HERE WAS THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE! Check-in was a very smooth and positive experience! She told me about the evening social and what that entails. Advised me that the (free) parking near the back entrance and it's elevator were much closer to my room. For a nice ending to my check in experience she gave me a bag with 2 bottles of water and some cookies. I will happily stay here everytime I'm visiting family in Mineola. THANK YOU HOMEWOOD SUITES 😊

DO NOT STAY HERE. DANGEROUS. I checked in very late (nearly midnight) after attending a nearby wake and restaurant/pub. The front desk girl was very nice but there were two people (man and woman) sitting in the lobby that looked like substance abusers. The man came up to me and started making lewd comments. I asked the clerk what’s going on and she told me they were guests there! Unfortunately, the man overheard my room number and shortly disappeared while the clerk was explaining the breakfast hours, etc. I went up to the fourth floor where my room was and my spidey-sense was tingling. I had a bad feeling so did not go to my room, instead waiting right in front of the elevator door. A full 5 minutes later, sure enough, the skell popped out of the stairwell and confronted me! I had already pressed the button for the elevator. Meanwhile I started yelling at the guy that I did not want to talk him and that he needed to leave me alone when the elevator door opened and there was a “security guard”. He was smirking and at that point, I got back in the elevator with him. At the front desk I requested a different room and was denied, as the clerk said the hotel was full. I went back to my room and BARRICADED MYSELF in as well as the bedroom door with belts. It was too late to find something else and I was up and out by 8am the following morning. DO NOT STAY HERE. NY HAS A RIGHT TO SHELTER LAW. READ UP ON IT. And I am a Hilton Diamond member!
